However, hard boiled eggs have longer viability than soft boiled eggs. They can be good for up to 7 days when stored correctly in the refrigerator.
If you shell the eggs, their lifespan will shorten. This will make your cooked eggs go bad after 4 or 5 days. When it comes to keeping them outside at room temperature hard eggs last for about 2 hours. If the temperature is warmer they can expire even in the time of an hour.
There are chances for you to store the boiled eggs incorrectly. This is why you should check how they smell before eating them from the fridge. If the eggs don’t smell good then throw them away.
When it comes to meals with eggs or preps based on eggs they can expire quickly if bit stored in the fridge. Don’t let them outside.
How to Store Boiled Eggs Properly in the Refrigerator?
What you shouldn’t do is to freeze the boiled eggs. No matter if they’re soft or hard boiled eggs, don’t freeze them.
Like I said earlier on, boiled legs last in the refrigerator for 7 days if stored in a right way. Take the carton where the eggs have originally been. Put the boiled, not shelled eggs, in the carton. This way the eggs will be good to eat fir up to one week.
Don’t take the eggs out of the refrigerator if you don’t plan to eat them within 30 min because the difference of temperature can make them go bad in one hour.
If you shelled the eggs the best way to store in the fridge is to put them in a zip bag. This is how:
- Take a zip bag.
- Put the eggs inside it.
- Put a straw in one side of the zip bag.
- Close the zip bag till you reach the straw.
- Take the air out through the straw.
- Close the zip bag fully.
- Put the zip bag with the eggs in the fridge.
Another way in which you can keep good eggs which have been peeled is this one:
- Take a bowl.
- Put water in it.
- Place the shelled eggs in the water.
- Place the bowls with the boiled eggs in the fridge.
- Change the water in the bowl every day.
This way the white part of the egg from drying. This way your eggs will remain soft and good to eat up to 5 days.
Now you can store the eggs safely in the fridge. Take them out only when you need them during the term in which they’re still good (4 or 5 days). Still, it won’t hurt to check if they’re good before you eat them.
